Tenerife - Photo safari on the volcano

So yesterday we walked around a LOT - from one end of Puerto de la Cruz to the other and back.

Today we rented a car and drove around the island or more correctly around the big volcano El Teide which happens to be the largest mountain of Spain!

Saw loads of volcanic formations and landscape, really interesting!

And of course we took tons of pictures. Only it was rather cool up there at over 2000 meters (we never made it to the mountain top)....
Stone circles

Sculpture made by a volcanic eruption

Many layers of lava
Not sure if this is a good idea...
Big beatle!

Sand in green and brown
View to the next islands: El Hiero - La Gomera - La Palma

On the way down we drove about 5 million curves! I did actually get a bit car sick in the end.

And we ended the day eating at a very nice restaurant in the harbour area called Kafka :-)
In general we have been eating very well here.

OK, time to digest...
