River Cruising - To the Golden Churches

On my 40th birthday my parents who are longtime fans of river cruises, apparently thought that I was now old enough for one!
So they invited me on a cruise on the river Danube.

We started out by taking a bus to Linz in Austria where we boarded our ship.

This is Melk, the first of several monasteries and churches that we visited during our one week trip. All of them are very opulent, loaded with gold and ornaments - the classic Catholic look!
And Melk is an especially big monastery with a pavillon, park, library etc. All these pictures below are from ONE place!
